If your 3D SVG project requires folding the pieces to construct the project it may be that your project has score lines to help you out with this.
Score lines are where your machine would make a crease that will make folding the craft easier.
However, Cricut does not distinguish which lines are for scoring and which lines are for cutting upon upload.
Not to worry! These can all be set within Cricut Design Space and it is rather simple.
How to Change Cut Lines to Score Lines
Step 1: Find the individual lines in the design where the folds would otherwise be. These are sometimes hidden behind the shapes (cut objects) when uploaded.
- If this is the case for you, you can select the cut object in the design from the layers panel
- Set the fill to white and send the object to the back.
- Hide all cut objects by selecting the eye icon on the group you made
Step 2: Once only the lines are visible, select the lines and group them together
Step 3: Select the group of lines in the layers menu and find the Operations dropdown in the top toolbar.
Step 4: Change the operation from Basic Cut > Score.
Step 5: Before sending to the cutting machine select both the cut and score objects and choose Attach. This will fix the two operations in relation to each other.
